“The staff don’t just say they care — they actually do”

— Give and Take Young Person

On Wednesday 3rd December, Include Youth, in partnership with the Western Trust, held a wonderful celebration event to recognise the outstanding achievements of young people involved in the Give and Take Programme and the Employability Service.

More than 50 young people, staff, carers, and partners came together, creating an exciting and encouraging  atmosphere. The day was packed with activities, games, DJ sets, art and craft stations, motivational talks and plenty of opportunities for young people to showcase their talents. Through poems, interviews, podcasts, and heartfelt speeches, they shared their journeys of growth, confidence, and resilience. Each story highlighted not only their progress, but also the power of supportive relationships.

We were delighted to have Joan Byers, assistant Director Western Trust, join us on the day. Her warm words of encouragement and belief in the young people added even more positivity to the celebration.

Adding to the day, the event doubled as a birthday celebration—marking two special 21st birthdays with cakes, candles, balloons, and plenty of cheers. It was a beautiful reminder that every milestone, big or small, deserves recognition.

A huge congratulations to all the young people. Your achievements, your determination, and the optimism you carry forward are truly inspiring. We couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve accomplished—and everything still to come.
