We are delighted to announce Tondra, our admin support worker, collected the ‘Rising Star into Employment’ award at VOYPIC’s Care Day Awards February 2025.
In 2018, Tondra achieved her qualifications and was about to complete her placement with Give and Take when she went off to have her little girl. When she came back, in March 2024, it was to take up a new JobStart placement as receptionist in the Include Youth, VOYPIC and Viable shared building, 100GPS.
Tondra proved herself to be an integral part of the team in a very short space of time. Although she initially lacked in confidence in herself and her ability, and had little experience, Tondra was a quick and keen learner. She threw herself into the role, and was able to work well with the 3 organisations with in 100 GPS, as well as the many external visitors. Tondra became the face of 100 GPS, and young people, staff and visitors often commented on her enthusiastic and positive attitude as well as her warm and welcoming smile and chats.
Tondra has gained confidence in her role, and has shown great improvement in her knowledge and skills in her role. She is approachable, accommodating, and helps others with anything that she can. She is determined to make a better life for her and her family and has demonstrated that her own experiences have shaped her into the person she is today.
The young people often stop and talk to Tondra and she has always given them time and space while continuing to fulfill her own tasks in work. The empathy and understanding she has can not be learned, it is a skill gained from life experience. She has a genuine care for people and is a joy to work with and we could not imagine her not being in our team!
Due to Tondras excellent progression, Include Youth are delighted to have been able to offer Tondra a permanent position as an admin support worker, a role she is thriving in.
Tondra is an absolute inspiration and we are very proud to have her as part of the Include Youth staff.
