Local charities Include Youth and Voice of Young People in Care (VOYPIC) have announced plans to develop a former industrial warehouse into a first-of-its-kind youth space for Belfast city centre.
Include Youth have stated that young care experienced people, who are not in a formal school setting, are losing out on assistance and support over COVID.

Paddy Mooney, Director of Include Youth, a charity who works with care experienced children and young people, has stated that the newly established Expert Panel to examine persistent educational underachievement must prioritise care experienced young people at the centre of any strategy.
Paddy Mooney, Director of Include Youth has stated that, as Brexit happens at 11pm on January the 31st, there remains concerns with regards to the potential impact on children’s rights, the future of children in care and service provision for the youth sector.
