JobStart Scheme Trainee Communications and Events Worker

Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the developing and implementing of the communication strategy.
  • Design engaging content for a variety of digital media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIN.
  • Monitor social media and engage with comments and feedback in a timely manner.
  • Analyse social media insights to track performance, reach and engagement.
  • Stay up to with latest social media trends.
  • Using WordPress, update Include Youth website with good news stories events, photos, and videos.
  • Design leaflets, posters all in line with Include Youth branding.
  • Engage with young people across all our offices highlighting their activities, events and showcasing their voices.
  • Represent Include Youth at a range of stakeholder and fundraising events.
  • Assist in the planning and delivering of events throughout all our offices.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures particularly safeguarding, social media policy, GDPR.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team and can on own initiative.
  • An understanding of how brands use a variety of social media channels.
  • Experience of producing digital media content.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of digital communication platforms and their audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and Word Press.
  • Experience of marketing & fundraising activities.
  • Ability to produce creative videos for website and social media channels.
  • Ability to produce and design engaging material using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop/ illustrator).
