Response to age discrimination legislation on the provision of goods, facilities and services
Responding to today's announced proposals on the way forward for the new age discrimination legislation on the provision of goods, facilities and services Paddy Mooney, Director of Include Youth, said:
"The Programme for Government made a commitment to extend age discrimination legislation in the provision of goods and services to those of all ages, so why have children 16 years and under been excluded?
"Children and young people deserve fair and equal treatment when accessing health and social care services and should not suffer discrimination because of their age.
"Include Youth along with colleagues in the children and young people's sector call on the Northern Ireland Assembly to use this consultation period to send a message out to all our children that they do count and deserve to be protected from all forms of discrimination."
