Include Youth to deliver United Youth pilot programme

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry and Junior Ministers Jennifer McCann and Michelle McIlveen today announced £2.2million for United Youth projects across Northern Ireland.

Include Youth is one of twelve community and voluntary sector organisations which will support young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in a transformational good relations programme.

Include Youth's United Youth pilot - Strive - will draw on young people's expertise in cross-community engagement and experience of education, training or employment to plan and develop the programme.

Dearbhla Holohan, project coordinator at Include Youth, said:

"Include Youth is delighted to have the opportunity to pilot this exciting new youth-led good relations model, developed by young people. The project will support 48 young people aged 16 to 24 years to develop their personal, social and emotional skills, improve their community relations and gain work and volunteering experience."

Strive will be delivered across four sites in partnership with Poleglass Youth Initiatives, Lisburn YMCA, New Start Education Centre and East Belfast Alternatives.
