Our in-house essential skills tutors adopt a flexible and informal approach to learning.
Training
For the majority of young people on the Give and Take Scheme training in literacy, numeracy or ICT is required.
Include Youth’s professional essential skills tutors provide in-house assessment and training, which allows for a more flexible and informal approach to learning, including one-to-one tuition where necessary .
Aside from essential skills training, other personal development and employment programmes undertaken on the Give and Take Scheme are accredited.
Young people are therefore assisted and supported to participate in training that leads to qualifications in the following:
- Literacy, Numeracy and ICT (From Entry Level 3 to Level 2)
- Preparation for Placement (Level 1)
- Employment Skills (Entry 3 and Level 1)
- Getting Ahead (a Personal Development Programme at Level 1)
Other vocational training is regularly sourced from external providers, for example, first aid; basic food hygiene; construction skills register card; and manual handling.
