I am based in the Newtownards office and work with young people referred by South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust to our Give & Take: Core programme. I work with and for the young people, supporting them to increase their employability and self esteem through the delivery of OCN accredited qualifications, vocational training and work experience opportunities.

I also work in partnership with community organisations, to deliver Give & Take's Outreach programme, where young people aged 16 to 24 can achieve NOCN Level 1 Award in skills for employment, training and personal development, as well as attending a vocationally relevant course, a group work experience opportunity, and support with their move on.

I take responsibility for the work related to employability on the Give and Take Scheme in the Western area, covering Omagh and Enniskillen.

Through Give & Take: Core I ensure that young people from a care background have the opportunity, confidence and skills to sample work experiences and realise career opportunity. To do this I deliver employability accredited training and coordinate programmes that are vocationally relevant. All of my work is individually tailored to enhance success.

Give and Take: Outreach is designed for young people in the community that are deemed NEET (not in education, employment or training). This is an employability /personal development themed accredited programme (NOCN Level 1). It is delivered one day per week over 12 weeks and is grouped based. My role is to deliver training, organise work place tours and provide support for moving on.

I am responsible for supporting young people on the Give & Take Scheme in the Belfast area. On Give and Take Core I help organise a variety of work experiences for young people aged 16+, such as, work place tours, taster days and placements. As well as delivering accredited qualifications and supporting the personal development aspect of the programme.

I also work in partnership with community organisations delivering our Give and Take Outreach, which is a group-based employability programme for 16-24 year olds. Young people can gain an NOCN Level 1 in employment, training and personal development, a vocational qualification, work experience and support in their move on.

The main aim of my role is to enhance the self-esteem and confidence of young people aged 16 to 21 who are attending the Give & Take Scheme in the southern area of the Western Trust. This is achieved through a range of programmes both accredited and non-accredited that are delivered in group and one-to-one settings. The overall goal of the work I do is to reduce barriers that are preventing young people from moving into mainstream employment, education or training.

An additional function of the role is to deliver the Give and Take: Outreach programme, which involves the recruitment and delivery of a 12 week programme to young people aged 16 to 24 that are currently not in education, employment or training.

As Senior Essential Skills Tutor I monitor and register the qualifications achieved with the relevant awarding bodies and supervise the dedicated team of tutors. I am responsible for the planning and delivery of ICT classes to young people the Western Trust (Derry, Omagh and Enniskillen) area and teach OCN qualifications in ICT from entry level through to level 3. These qualifications provide young people with necessary skills for their future.

I am a Youth Worker responsible for supporting young people aged 16 to 24 get into education, training or employment in the Armagh area. These young people face various barriers and it is a privilege to be helping them to overcome these barriers to reach their potential. I also work in partnership with the SHSCT and also run various outreach programmes which support young people on a short term basis, who are at danger of being Not in Education, Employment or Training. Some of these projects are in partnership with EA Youth Service and also in Local schools in the area.
